The Challenge

In 2014, crypto products had no UX standards, high entry barriers, and low user trust. Most platforms were built for technical users, limiting mainstream adoption.

What We Built

A web-based crypto exchange and wallet designed to feel closer to a traditional fintech product than a niche technical tool.

Key differentiator: support for multiple payment systems, enabling broader global adoption and easier onboarding.

My Contribution

  • Led end-to-end product design
  • Conducted user interviews & usability testing
  • Designed user flows, IA, wireframes, and UI
  • Shaped product UX in the absence of industry best practices

Impact

  • Lowered the entry barrier for new crypto users
  • Expanded the user base through flexible fiat on/off-ramps
  • Built a scalable UX foundation in an emerging market

Key Learnings

  • In early-stage web3, product discovery > visual polish
  • Trust is built through clarity and familiar UX patterns
  • Continuous user feedback is critical when standards don’t exist

Why It Matters

This case reflects my experience building 0→1 web3 products, designing under uncertainty, and applying strong product thinking in uncharted markets.
